Terms of Service

Last updated: 31 July 2026 · See also our Privacy Policy

Welcome to TetherTails

These Terms of Service are an agreement between you and TetherTails Pte. Ltd., a company incorporated in Singapore ("TetherTails", "we", "us"). They govern your use of the TetherTails mobile app and the tethertails.com website (together, the "service"). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use TetherTails.

As TetherTails grows, we sometimes rename or reorganise features. Names used today — such as "The Park", "Playdates", "Pack Pals", "Pets Hub", "PawPoints", "Care" and "Care+" — and the names of any of our services or marketplace features may be changed, rebranded or reorganised, but these terms apply to the underlying feature whatever it is called, and a rename on its own is not a change that requires you to accept these terms again.

How we handle your personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy, which we encourage you to read alongside these terms.

Who can use TetherTails

You must be at least 18 years old to use TetherTails. We do not allow accounts for anyone under 18, and we may close any account we discover belongs to someone under 18.

The Park — our social module with friend and dating modes — is strictly for users aged 18 and over. The space itself has not opened yet: there is nobody to browse, and no likes, matches or chat. What you can do today is build your Park profile, and if you finish it we save it, including the photo of yourself the profile requires; nobody else can see any of it until The Park opens. Access is controlled by the date of birth on your account, and no one under 18 can use it in any mode.

Your account

Keep it simple and honest: one account per person, with accurate information, including your real date of birth — our age rules depend on it. You sign in with your phone number and a one-time SMS code, so keep your phone and its number secure, and consider adding a recovery email so you can regain access if you change numbers. You are responsible for activity on your account; if you believe someone else has accessed it, contact us at support@tethertails.com straight away.

What TetherTails is — and one important thing it is not

TetherTails helps you care for your pets: pet profiles with photos and health and care records, a Lost & Found that rallies nearby users, sharing with trusted people, rewards through PawPoints, and The Park for adult users — whose profile you can build today, ahead of the space itself opening.

Here is the important part: TetherTails is not veterinary advice. Nothing in the app — records, reminders, tips, community posts or anything else — is a diagnosis, treatment or professional veterinary opinion, and it is no substitute for one. Always consult a qualified veterinarian about your pet's health, and if your pet needs urgent help, contact a vet immediately rather than relying on the app.

Your content stays yours

Everything you post on TetherTails — pet photos, records, reports, messages, profile details — remains yours. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt (for technical purposes such as resizing) and display that content, solely as needed to operate and provide the service. That licence is what lets us, for example, show your lost-pet report and its map pin to nearby users, show a pet profile to someone you have shared it with, and, when messaging features launch, deliver your messages. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except where content has already been shared with other users through the service (such as messages you sent them), where we must retain specific records by law, or where we need to keep a safety record — if you report another user, we keep that report, with your identity removed, so we can still act on it after you have gone.

Please only post what you have the right to post — your own photos and information, or content you have permission to use.

Community rules

TetherTails works because people trust each other with something they love. So: be honest and be kind. Do not post content that is unlawful, harassing, threatening, hateful, obscene, or that infringes anyone's rights. Do not impersonate anyone or misrepresent who you are. Do not file false or misleading Lost & Found reports — they waste the goodwill of people trying to help. Do not use TetherTails to spam, scam or exploit others, and do not attempt to scrape the service, interfere with it, probe its security, or access it by any means other than the app and website we provide. In The Park, treat people with respect; it is an adults-only space and we hold it to a high standard of conduct. Photos you post to public-facing surfaces — Lost & Found reports today, and our social features when they launch — may be automatically screened by content-safety technology, before or shortly after they appear, and taken down if they fail that check, to keep the community safe.

We may remove content and take action on accounts that break these rules, as described under "Suspension and ending your account" below.

Lost & Found

When you report a pet lost or found, you place the map pin yourself. Your report, its pin and its contact number are visible to every signed-in TetherTails user while the report is active; we send alerts to users near the pin, but anyone in the app can see the listing. Place pins responsibly and keep your report accurate — other people will act on it. If you arrange to meet someone about a lost or found pet, use the same common sense you would meeting any stranger: choose a public place where you can. TetherTails provides the platform, but we cannot guarantee that a lost pet will be found, and we are not a party to arrangements between users.

Reports carry call and WhatsApp buttons so helpers and owners can reach each other quickly (our Privacy Policy explains how this works; a report never shows the phone number on the account of a user under 18 — they may give a trusted adult's number instead, and must do so when they send a finder report to the owner of a specific missing pet). A contact number on a report may be used for one purpose only: helping reunite that pet. Using it for marketing, harassment or anything else is a serious breach of these terms. Those calls and WhatsApp conversations happen outside TetherTails, so we cannot see, moderate or retrieve them. And a hard-earned warning from the lost-pet world: be alert to anyone demanding payment for a pet's return — report them in the app immediately. One more thing, because your report shows your number: TetherTails will never call you and ask for your sign-in code. Anyone who does is not us — hang up and report it.

Sharing your pet's profile

You can create revocable view or care links so trusted people can see or help care for your pet. Choose those people carefully: any sharing or sitting arrangement is between you and them, and remains your responsibility as the pet's owner. We are not a party to those arrangements and do not vet the people you share with. You can revoke a link at any time in the app.

Verification badges

Identity verification is not available yet, and no verification badges are being issued. When it launches, a badge will mean that a member of our team checked that person's short verification video at a point in time. It will not be an endorsement, not a background check, and not a guarantee of anyone's identity, character or conduct after that check. Please keep exercising your own judgment with everyone you meet through the service.

PawPoints

PawPoints are our way of saying thanks for being part of the community. They are earned through activity only — they can never be purchased — and they have no cash or monetary value, are not your property, and cannot be transferred, exchanged for cash, or used outside the app. You can redeem PawPoints for partner vouchers; at redemption, the partner's own voucher conditions apply, and the partner (not TetherTails) is responsible for providing the goods or services the voucher covers. We may correct PawPoints balances that result from error or technical fault, and reverse or remove PawPoints obtained through abuse or fraud. We may also change or retire the PawPoints programme, and if we ever retire it we will give you reasonable notice so you can redeem what you have earned.

Referrals

Our referral programme rewards you for inviting friends — once. Each referral reward can be earned only once per account and once per device, and we use a device identifier to enforce this and prevent fraud. Self-referrals, fake accounts, device manipulation or any other gaming of the programme may lead to reversal of rewards and action on your account. We may change or end the referral programme at any time; changes will not remove rewards you have already properly earned.

The app includes sponsored content and our own promotions, such as partner offers and sponsored rewards, and we record views and taps on them to operate these promotions (see the Privacy Policy). Partner offers and vouchers are provided by the relevant partner under the partner's own conditions, and the partner is responsible for what it offers.

Shelter donations and community votes

Each month, TetherTails intends to donate a pot to animal shelters, split according to the community's votes, and to publish the receipts once the programme begins. The donations are made by the company: your vote helps decide the split but does not create any payment obligation for you, and does not make you a donor for tax or any other purpose. We may adjust how the donation programme works over time.

Subscriptions: Care and Care+

Our optional paid plans (currently named Care and Care+) arrive shortly after launch and unlock additional features. When available, they are billed exclusively by the Apple App Store or Google Play, under your agreement with them — we never receive your card or bank details. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel, and cancellation, billing management and refunds are handled through your app store's own processes; store rules also govern how price changes are notified and take effect. If you cancel or downgrade, we never delete your data. Before a downgrade takes effect we ask you to bring your account within the new plan's limits — for example by removing or memorialising pets, or freeing storage. What goes is always your choice, and we do not remove anything on your behalf.

Our intellectual property

The TetherTails app, website, brand, logos, design, software and the PawPoints system belong to TetherTails Pte. Ltd. and its licensors. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app and website for your own personal, non-commercial use in accordance with these terms. Please do not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, reverse engineer or create derivative works from the service, except to the extent Singapore law permits despite this restriction. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them freely to improve TetherTails, without obligation to you.

Suspension and ending your account

You can stop using TetherTails at any time, and you can delete your account immediately in the app (see the Privacy Policy for what happens to your data).

We may suspend or terminate your account, or remove content, if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if we reasonably suspect fraud or abuse, if the law requires it, or if it is necessary to protect other users or the service. Where reasonable, we will warn you first and give you a chance to put things right. If we take action on your account and you think we got it wrong, contact us at support@tethertails.com and we will review it. On termination, your licence to use the service ends; sections of these terms that by their nature should continue (including content licences already exercised, our intellectual property rights, limitations of liability, and the governing-law and general provisions) survive.

What we don't promise

We work hard to make TetherTails reliable, but to the maximum extent permitted by Singapore law, the service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, that a lost pet will be found, or anything about other users — their conduct, their content, or arrangements you make with them (including pet-sitting and meetings arranged through Lost & Found or The Park). Partner vouchers and offers are the responsibility of the relevant partner. Nothing in this section limits rights you have under Singapore consumer protection law that cannot be excluded.

Our liability to you

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under Singapore law (including under the Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977 and the Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act 2003).

Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, loss of profits, loss of data caused by events outside our reasonable control, or losses arising from other users' conduct or from arrangements between you and other users or partners. Subject to the first paragraph of this section, our total liability to you for all claims arising out of the service in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of the amounts you paid for the service in that period and S$100.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as TetherTails evolves. If a change is material, we will notify you in the app or by message reasonably in advance, and continuing to use the service after the change takes effect means you accept it; if you do not, you can stop using the service and delete your account. Renaming or reorganising a feature is not, by itself, a change that requires fresh acceptance. The "Last updated" date above always shows the current version.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. If a dispute arises, please talk to us first at support@tethertails.com — most issues can be sorted out quickly. Otherwise, disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.

The general bits

If any provision of these terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the rest remain in full force. If we do not enforce a provision at some point, that is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later. You may not assign or transfer these terms; we may assign them, including in a corporate restructuring, merger or acquisition, provided your rights under them are not reduced. These terms and the documents they refer to (including the Privacy Policy) are the entire agreement between you and us about the service. A person who is not a party to these terms has no rights under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 2001 to enforce any of them.
